Jane Waters – COO, Allen & Overy

Jane Waters is the COO of Allen & Overy, Johannesburg, a multinational law firm headquartered in London.  She has chosen to spend virtually her entire career within Professional Services firms, beginning her career and completing her HR training at Ernst & Young in London.

Jane has a BSC Hons in Anthropology and a post-graduate qualification in Human Resources Management.  If Jane didn’t have three small children she’d probably have a Masters too!


Ilka Dunne - Head of Learning Architecture:  Rand Merchant Bank

Ilka Dunne holds a BA Dramatic Art Hons (Wits), an MEd (University of Johannesburg) and a DPhil (University of Johannesburg) in Personal, Interpersonal and Professional Leadership. After ten years of running her own educational consultancy, Ilka joined the corporate world full time and has for the last seven years worked in organizational development and learning.
She currently leads the learning architecture team in Rand Merchant Bank, where she heads up all young talent marketing and development initiatives, handles internal conference design and development, designs and supports leadership and management development and helps to drive business-wide activities such as culture and change initiatives.
She is accredited as an internal Meta-coach with the Meta-coach Foundation and the International Society for Neuro-Semantics. She sits on the RMB fund and helps to run the RMB NGO Leadership Network. She thrives on being with husband Jayson and her children Sam and Cal and feels very close to the world of graduates as her daughter is currently finding her way through the complexities of varsity life, while her son is preparing himself for varsity life. When she has a spare moment she mentors arts organisations through BASA.

Joanna Preston

Joanna completed an Honours degree in Industrial Psychology at the University of Johannesburg, and is a qualified Psychometrist registered with the HPCSA. She began her career as a management consultant in 2003 with Accenture South Africa, and after two years moved into the role of Graduate Recruiter. This is when the passion for the profession began and when an opportunity to develop FNB’s Graduate Programme arose, she joined the bank in 2006 to take on the challenge.

Joanna continues to head up the Graduate Recruitment and Development  team as part of the Niche Talent Programmes portfolio alongside work in assessments, employee value proposition and employment branding.

Joanna is passionate about people, and through her involvement in Graduate Recruitment and Development would like to positively influence career and self knowledge among students. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family which now includes a little girl.


Ntwani Shilubane

After studying a B Com Honours in Industrial Psychology at the University of Johannesburg Ntwani joined the ABI (now the Soft Drinks Division of SAB) graduate programme.  She completed a one year programme, gaining exposure in Learning and Development, OD and HR.  She then went on to specialise in Learning and Development, before venturing into Talent Management.
Ntwani holds a Masters in Industrial Psychology. She is currently employed by Tiger Brands where she leads Talent Management for the group. She enjoys the challenges that come with moving into a new era of Human Resources.  
Ntwani is an avid music lover and enjoys baking, hiking and travelling in her spare time.
