The 2018 SAGEA Candidate Insights survey among over 2000 recently-employed young professionals revealed an interesting trend around the use of Career Advisors with 40% of respondents indicating that they had made use of a Career Advisor, compared to only 12% the previous year. We decided to investigate possible reasons behind this trend – as well as wanting to deepen our understanding of how career coaching works. We spoke to three colleagues who are involved in career coaching: Aderyn Exley, an Associate Consultant and Coach at Joint Prosperity as well as a Private Practioner, Lerato Nxomani-Pakade, a Talent Strategist and MD of Regent Career Architects, and Nicole Ciolli, owner of 20Something Consulting shared their insights with us.
