The use of students and staff as brand ambassadors for recruitment has grown significantly over the last 3-4 years as employers search for smart ways of breaking through the campus “noise and clutter” and engaging with students who, at best, pay only partial attention. But how do ambassador programmes work, how should you select the “right” ambassadors, how can you be sure they will enhance and not damage your reputation on campus and what can you realistically expect them to deliver? Ronen Aires of Student Village and Zazel Sale of Murray & Roberts have generously shared their brand ambassador stories and experiences with us and have certainly provided me with insight into how to build an ambassador programme for optimal results.
