Module 1
Career Readiness
This module introduces you to the concept of Career Readiness, which is our readiness to make Career decisions at any stage of our lives. This is particularly important for students and early career graduates who are making their first steps into a lifelong journey of work. When individuals have low Career Readiness they find it difficult to make Career decisions, which is a problem for students leaving university. But low Career Readiness is also an issue for early career graduates, who may be struggling to settle into their new roles. So supporting students and graduates to have high Career Readiness is important for them, and for Universities, Foundations and Employers.
The module is in four parts which explore what Career Readiness is, and how it can be developed through different aspects of Careers Education programmes in education and employment context. The module also considers Employability: what an individual possesses that enables them to gain and maintain their choice of work.
