The SAGEA board is delighted to welcome Alice Nyembe as SAGEA’s new Executive Director, effective 1 September 2025.
Alice brings over 15 years’ experience in education, social impact, and organisational development, with leadership roles at Teach For All, the LEGO Foundation, Engen Petroleum, and JET Education Services, to name a few. She has designed national youth development strategies, coached senior leaders across Africa, and built high-performing teams delivering impactful education-to-employment programmes.
With a Master’s in Education and Development, Alice is passionate about helping employers play a greater role in developing young talent. As she joins the SAGEA team, her focus will include building strong, meaningful relationships with our members and stakeholders, driving collaboration between educators, employers, and policymakers, and unpacking what lasting impact looks like for SAGEA and the broader youth empowerment ecosystem in South Africa.
Alice will join Cathy and the SAGEA team in early September for a formal hand-over and looks forward to connecting with many of you in person at the SAGEA Conference in November. Please join us in warmly welcoming Alice to the SAGEA community. We are excited about the future under her leadership.
